The world’s most pierced man, German IT technician Rolf Buchholz, was denied entry to Dubai by immigration officials last Saturday when he tried to visit the emirate to appear at a circus-themed nightclub.
The 53-year-old has 453 piercings — which earned him a place in the Guinness World Book of Records as the planet’s most pierced man — tweeted on August 16 that Dubai shut its doors on him because they feared he practiced “black magic.” He added: “Stupid people.”
Buchholz told the Associated Press that he had passed through immigration and was walking towards customs when he was stopped by immigration officers. The officers, while friendly, would not give a clear answer as to why he was barred from entering Dubai. He claims an airport employee said the immigration officers were worried that he practiced black magic. Buchholz was then put in a room with other deportees, before being placed on a plane to Istanbul.
The disgruntled German also tweeted, “Dubai I would never come back!”
Buchholz was traveling to Dubai to appear in a circus-themed nightclub, possibly to perform in a body suspension show. The show was cancelled.
